Jerpoint Abbey isn't just a tourist destination — it's a living piece of medieval Irish history. Built in the 13th century, the abbey's ruins tell stories of monastic life, religious devotion, and architectural evolution across 700+ years. We've carefully restored the cloister gardens to reflect what they might have looked like centuries ago.
What makes it special for retirees is that you don't need to be an athlete to enjoy it. The terrain is gentle, the pace is yours to set, and there's genuine beauty around every corner. Whether you're interested in history, nature, or just a peaceful afternoon walk, the abbey delivers something meaningful.
